Based on real letters, important story, honest
I loved this book while reading it, and then even more when I found out that it was based on real letters a young girl sent to Robert Munsch. Authors have so much power, and the fact that he used his platform to share this important story with the world makes me so happy. From Far Away does not shy away from the difficult topic of war, making it a very honest book for children. For a book published nearly 30 years ago, this has aged incredibly well.
