The Library of Ever by Zeno Alexander

Updated: Jan 7, 2022

Lenora is having the most boring summer ever. Her parents have gone off travelling the world without her, and the nanny they hired to look after Lenora just drags her around in the back of her limousine and won't let her have any fun. Lenora's summer takes a turn for the better, though, when she discovers a secret library, full of everything you could ever imagine. The sections range from Tardigrades to Calendars, and the library is so big it might as well be an entire city. Lenora soon becomes fourth assistant librarian, and by working at the library she learns new things, explores many places, and even saves a few lives.

OVERALL RATING 9.5/10

This is the most fun book I have read in a long time! I loved learning about all the parts of the library and going on such exciting adventures alongside Lenora. If I had read this as a ten year-old, I am absolutely sure it would have been my all-time favourite book. The setting is amazing, and the epic adventures left me in awe, and often fits of laughter, too. This book is quite full of plot holes, and doesn't make much sense, but I kind of think that is fitting for it. Some people really hate plot holes, though. It was also quite fast-paced.
