OVERALL RATING 7/10

This is one of the books I read with my younger book club, so not only do I have my own opinions, I have the opinions of kids, too (read more about the book clubs here). First, my own thoughts, though. I thought Toys Go Out was a good book. It often reminded me of Winnie the Pooh in the way it was written, and I think it is wonderful for a family read with young kids. There really wasn't anything wrong with the book, it just wasn't really that exciting. I think the kids in the book club felt the same way - it was funny and sweet, but maybe not the most interesting. It is also not really a continuous story - more like a collection of short stories. Overall it's a nice book, but not particularly amazing. The kids in the book club rated it as a four out of six (or 'OK' on our book-rating scale).
