OVERALL RATING 6/10

Funny, doesn't deal with issues in a realistic way, no racial diversity

This is a sweet and fun story for young readers. The writing style and characters are quite funny, and even as an adult I had to giggle a couple time while reading. Unfortunately, every character in this book is white, so there is no racial diversity. The story also, though Stuart clearly has some anxieties about his new school, doesn't show him overcoming them in a realistic way - he is just saved by his cape. Probably worth reading if you come across the book, but nothing really stands out as amazing! I was a bit disappointed, since I am a huge fan of other Sara Pennypacker books.
